Three years running: Mamoosh celebrates SALSA approval 2026

A lot goes into a Mamoosh pitta before it reaches your table. Behind the soft, fluffy bread is a team that cares deeply about what they make, and how they make it, and they have worked incredibly hard to meet the demanding standards of SALSA certification.

That’s why we're delighted to announce that Mamoosh Bakery has passed its 2026 SALSA audit, for the third consecutive year.

It’s a proud moment for our Newhaven bakery, and we’re excited to share it with everyone who buys, serves, and enjoys our food.

The hard work behind the achievement

Throughout the year, our team has maintained high standards while mixing, baking, and packing. Preparing for the audit and demonstrating that we meet SALSA’s requirements takes time, focus and teamwork, alongside all the care that already goes into running a busy artisan bakery.

What SALSA approval means

SALSA stands for Safe and Local Supplier Approval. It is a recognised food safety certification scheme for smaller food and drink producers, with approval dependent on an independent audit.

Producers must demonstrate that they can make and supply safe, legal food and remain committed to meeting the SALSA standard. Approval is assessed through an annual audit, so retaining it means demonstrating that commitment again each year.

Our successful 2026 audit provides reassurance that the food safety systems behind our baking meet those stringent requirements.
